In an August 21, 2013 journal entry Alice wrote about how she was sent home from the bulk mailing department of the post office with the 171 letter mailing she hoped to send and was told to go find 29 more letters because the minimum mailing is 200 letters.
Instead of allowing yet another bulk mailing post office experience to annoy Alice, she went home and prayed about how to proceed. She took the opportunity to address 33 more envelopes with the most recent HWI newsletters to engineering professors at colleges and universities around the country.
Today Alice received the following email from one of those engineering professors.
“I recently received a letter in the mail with a pamphlet detailing your mission for providing mobility to developing and needy societies. I noticed that your organization is seeking university involvement to further this ministry. Do you have plans to visit the central Indiana area this fall for an introductory meeting? If so, I would like to find a time to meet with you and discuss this further.
Interestingly enough, we at our University are currently developing a new engineering curriculum and would love to hear about this ministry. We are currently in the process of developing service projects that our engineering students can participate in, in conjunction with their course/laboratory curriculum.”
