The Wheels are turning

The wheels are turning in many ways and in many places. Below is an update on some of the exciting things happening around trikes at three different universities and in Niger, West Africa.

Last week Alice had lunch with faculty at Spring Arbor University (SAU)who are part of the University Consortium. We prayed and dreamed together about some of the entrepreneurial and innovative ideas we discussed with faculty from SAU and India. Continue to pray with us as it takes time to implement good ideas.

Last week we learned via Steve Brown, a missionary in Niger that a trike we sent to Niger last February via a container, arrived in November, and is now assembled and rolling around. The physical therapy staff at one of the hospital/rehab setting is trying it out. Please pray for the next steps in Niger.

The engineering department at Taylor University has incorporated two trike projects as junior student projects this semester. One student is looking into a chain guard solution. Two other students are looking at a way to motorize the trike.

We are encouraged with how the University Trike Consortium is developing. A few weeks ago we had a three-way phone conference with a Taylor University professor getting started with trike projects, a Messiah College faculty member who has overseen their trike work since 1999, and HWI. What fun to collaborate and bring together our knowledge bases around trikes as a tool for expanding Christ’s Kingdom.
